Born and raised in Mumbai, Punita was always fascinated with the world of glamour and the sparkling world of crystals. However, the journey began when she had the golden opportunity to go to Paris, the hub of glitz and glamour. Under the guidance of her mentor, Marie Louise, She took up a course in designing and making jewellery. After the completion of the course, she was fully immersed in the world of crystal jewellery. She got her break in Bollywood as the first individual costume jewellery designer with Feroz Khan’s film, Janasheen. She is also the first partner of CRYSTALLIZEDTM – Swarovski Elements in India as a jewellery designer.
Since then, there has been no looking back for her as she sits at her quaint little sparkling studio in Greater Kailash, New Delhi handcrafting jewellery for many Bollywood films and stars. Punita has also designed jewellery for a Hollywood film, Marigold. And it is her passion towards diversifying crystal art, that she still threads each and every single piece of crystal with her hands, infusing life into the creations. Her inspiration is winged with imagination and takes the shape of innovative ideas as she creates magic with designs to make a woman feel like a queen in her feminine and delicate crystal art designs.
Apart from jewellery her creations encompass a broad assortment of designs which include crystal curtains, table decoration, hair accessories, chandeliers, tiaras, lights, Kalira, lamps, candle stands, home interiors, furniture and much more.
Punita has mastered the art of channelizing her passion for creativity and she designs and creates costume jewellery all by herself, without the help of any assistant. And crafts costume jewellery even in a movie theater, car and while traveling in an aircraft while watching TV. She designs jewellery that is not only unique but creates a statement of fashion, all by itself. Punita says, “This journey that I have embarked upon to create beauty, is a reflection of my thoughts of how the world today should be- sparkling, diverse and peaceful.”
