The first day at Amazon India Fashion Week was opened By Samant Chauhan. The absence of color running throughout his collection was quite evident with the theatrical touch in his set-up of runway. It can definitely go in the one-of-a-kind list. Imagining a world in black and white from the lens of a color blind painter and to remove the negative connotations attached to it is what inspired this collection.
Cotton silk, linen gowns with zari embroidery and voluminous silhouettes gave the touch of royalty to the collection. The embellishments with silk threads and glass embroidery gave the right amount of bling to the garments. The surprise element of the show were the models in salt and pepper hair and beard, age holds no bar when it comes to fashion, they all looked chic in the travel friendly indo-western outfits. The jackets with gold zari embroidery complimented the black kurtas, again blending a traditional Indian technique with classic silhouettes.
The show ended with an army of models in black solid outfits with contemporary cuts and minimal designing.
