Designer Vineet Bahl showcases his autumn/winter collection at Amazon India Fashion Week 2018.

Few in the fashion industry learn to deliver on the elusive constructs of style, comfort and ingenuity. And Vineet Bahl doesn’t stop here- with a design sense that says fluid and attitude to detail always we have someone whose work is as fresh as morning dew.

Vineet Bahl’s aw18 collection took us straight to the streets of Europe and why not? The collection was inspired by his travels to the Balkan Peninsula and comprised of washed blue denim skirts with white polka dots and matching white mesh top with vibrant embroidery. It also had a huge dose of big checks done in either whites or navy blue. Bahl’s collection had hand beading and unique embroidery techniques which elevated the simple garments and made them apt for evening wear.

The Balkan Peninsula region comprises several countries including Croatia, Romania, and Slovenia and Bahl’s AW18 collection underscores the artisanal talent of the region and draws heavily from its art, architecture, costumes and even social mannerisms. Also present were Arabesque motifs which have been artistically rendered by the designer who pays attention to detail. Not shy of experimenting with colours and garments replete with surface detailing and interactive textures, this collection attempted to reinterpret historical culture in a modern way by providing a contemporary and functional update on that what has been the sartorial treasure of the Balkan states.

The collection had everything from sleeveless shrugs, big belts, embroidered gowns in earthy tones with tight sleeves. The structure was provided with a cinched belt.
