The ex-Tiffany executive, Ingrid Lederhaas-Okun has been sentenced to jail for 1 year by U.S. Federal Court in Manhattan for stealing and reselling over $2 million worth of jewelry from the luxury brand. She has also been charged a penalty of $2.1 million and to pay $2.2 million in compensation.

The jewelries were found missing after she was terminated from the company in February. When the former jewelry executive was interrogated about the matter, she gave false statement that she checked out the jewelry for making a PowerPoint presentation on her computer for her supervisor. But her supervisor stated that she was not aware of any presentation nor she got any draft in her computer.

On July 26, Lederhaas-Okun confessed of stealing more than 165 pieces of jewelry, including diamond bracelets, earrings, rings and pendants and reselling the pieces to a leading international buyer. Her husband was also found guilty for assisting her in the jewelry transactions.
