250The French luxury leather and lifestyle accessories brand, Hermès continues to make history in its bag auction. A 30 cm diamond matte Himalayan Nilo crocodile Birkin bag, featuring as many as 242 diamonds with a total weight of 9.84 carats, was auctioned at a whooping amount of $185,000, at Heritage Auctions in Beverly Hills.

The event marks the second most expensive bag sold at auction, after the shiny rouge 30 cm Porosus diamond Birkin that was sold for $203,150 at a Heritage auction in Dallas, 2011.

Meanwhile, the auction included as many as 480 luxurious and the most refined quality handbags from brands like Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton to name a few, and was a part of the Heritage ‘Luxury Accessories Signature Auction’ series. However, both the buyer and the consigner were present at the auction, the names of whom remain anonymous.
