1In celebration of Earth Day, Swedish multinational retail-clothing company, Hennes & Mauritz showcased a sustainability booth in Union Square Park. The event featured environmental activities and entertainment for the customers.

Guests were encouraged to donate any brand of unwanted clothing to the H&M garment recycling bins and in return participants received 20% off on their next purchase from the brands more sustainable fashion pieces worn by stars like Jessica Alba, Olivia Wilde, Solange Knowles, Victoria Justice, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lopez, Miranda Kerr, Emmy Rossumand more.

2H&M is one of the largest users of organic cotton in the world, and in the spring they created a limited edition Conscious Collection, made with high-quality fabrics including vegetable tanned leather and organic silk cultivated from mulberry trees. In addition, H&M was named one of the Most Ethical Companies of 2014 for the fourth consecutive year.They’ve also reduced CO2 emissions by 5% and saved close to 1,000,000 gallons of water by introducing water-saving techniques in their denim production.
