1Google has partnered with famous jeans-maker Levi Strauss to create “smart clothes” for people.

Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects with Levis Strauss will create garments with touchpad capabilities and will feature gestures like swiping and tapping that will forward signals to smartphones and devices to perform various functions.

Titled as Project Jacquar, the latest innovation by ATAP has made special threads which can be woven into a wide array of fabrics, and can be made to visually stand out or go unnoticed depending on designers’ wishes. The conductive yarn will be linked to small circuits which include miniaturized electronics that can use algorithms and identify gestures. Conductivity yarn can be limited to desired parts of fabric or spread across entire cloth and is stretchable and washable.
