250Karl Lagerfeld answered the highly anticipated and derogatory question of the association of fashion with feminism, that too in the affirmative.

For his Spring Summer 2015 runway show during the Paris Fashion Week, the designer catered to an exclusive feminist March, wherein his band of feminist models walked down the ‘Boulevard Chanel’ holding signs and hoardings which stated slogans like, ‘Ladies First’, ‘Free Freedom’ and ‘Make Fashion Not War’.

Models like Cara Delevingne and Caroline de Maigret had megaphones in hand as a parade of models including Kendall Jenner, Georgia May Jagger, Edie Campbell, Joan Smalls, and Gisele Bündchen brandished signs that read ‘History is Her Story’, ‘Feminism Not Masochism’ and ‘We Can Match the Machos’.

ARP3985016Did Lagerfeld just himself turned into a feminist? Well, time alone can foretell! However, with this attempt, he surely took a step forward with a very sensitive and personal issue within the realm of fashion industry.
