Talking to Tinu Verghis is like a bout of self analysis, soliloquy, self exploration and self congratulations. The very outright Tinu lives her every belief and stands for them with her bold and unjudgemental voice. Be it her undaunted standing for the ethical fashion or be it her move towards the betterment of the life of the Goan farmers, she is a model with a socially awakened soul.  Unconventionally beautiful and conventionally charming, Tinu is a brave woman of today who makes her living like a fearless roaring lioness. From ramps to the streets she is found dawning the processions with her dusky staring-right-in-your-eyes looks.

Fashionfad got into a candid conversation with fashionably fancy free and freely unscrupulous Tinu Verghis over her authentic and authoritative life.

What do you love most that you can even die for?
The only thing I want is to live forever.

What is the moment that you always want to carry close to your heart like a baby in a sling?
I don’t live in the past nor in the future. I live for today. I don’t care a damn about moments of emotional awakening. I have none of those.

Have you ever woken up with a thought that its enough of modeling, I want to explore something else out of me?
Modeling has opened all doors for me. Today I can talk about illiteracy among women and introduce a way to beat that and people will pay heed. Modeling is just a stepping stone for altering the lives and attitude of people around me. Today I can be an influence to others, sometimes for the better and other times for the worst.

What is spirituality to u?
Being at peace with who you are.

The most interesting man you have ever met?
Quentin Staes Polet, I am lucky to share my bed with him every night.

And what was so interesting about him?
A gentleman with a heart of gold, an adrenaline junkie with a body of an 18 year old.

Any guilty pleasure?
Whatever.

What is life to you? Is Tinu Verghis’s life somehow different from a just-another-recognized-common lady?
I have approx 100 years to live and I have finished one quarter already. There is no coming back and I want to live the rest of it full power. No soul seeking, spiritual shaking, mind numbing societal bullshit for me.

It is the usual perception that green rooms produce the stoned models on the ramps. What’s your take on this?
What you do with your life is your prerogative, as long as you are not violating someone else privacy. Do office rooms produce sex offenders? or Photo Studios produce pedophiles? or press rooms produce coke heads? or A rock star’s  room produce junkies? I know many girls who are not into substance abuse. So generalizing is a bad concept.
