When the grilling heat is on our heads and staying indoors is the only savior for those who can afford, Earth Foundation along with the support of our designers showed its concern for poverty-thus-heat-ridden children who have no option but to brave the sun.

To protect the poorest of the poor children against the scorching heat beating down on the most vulnerable of our capital city of Delhi, Earth Foundation is launching a ‘Beat the Heat’ campaign, from 27 th May’2011 at the Blind School-Lodhi Road crossing.

Earth Foundation plans to distribute water proof caps to slum children to help protect them from physical harm. After launching the campaign at Lodhi road crossing, volunteers would distribute caps individually at other locations in the city to needy children.

The campaign is supported by well-known fashion designers like Niki Mahajan, Payal Jain and Vijay Arora who would distribute caps to the underprivileged children at the Lodhi Road crossing area along with Earth Foundation youth volunteers. Apart from designers, Mr. Anil Sharma who is an exporter by profession, has also whole heartedly supported the campaign.

On the launch of the campaign Geeti Bhagat, Vice Chairperson, Earth Foundation, said, “Our hearts go out to poor children who are forced to be in this scorching heat. The head is the most vulnerable part which affects them physically and mentally so we have created our ‘Beat the Heat’ campaign and in our small way we would be pleased to help these needy children whom we pass every day while driving through our city”
