Day 3 of the New York extravaganza witnessed some of the biggest names in fashion that showcased edgy, yet chic and classy garments. Each collection was a perfect combination of oomph and uber-cool style that went in accordance to each designer’s design aesthetic.

The day began with a collaborative project between the Korean designers at Concept Korea. From minimalistic cuts to extensively draped garments, the collection was wearable and it truly catered to the needs of a modern man as well as woman. Leather boots as well as pointed brogues, perfectly complimented each and every look as models were drenched in sober pastels like beige, grey, aubergine, black and mustard.

Concept Kore

Bringing oriental influence to the forefront Mongol brought about an oriental luxe look on the runway. Showcasing a variety of trends like print, boho in a variety of materials like vinyl, fur, leather in exciting silhouettes, the collection had an experimental twist to the Oriental drape and aesthetics. Oriental influences like wide silk belts, kimono jackets and oriental print were showcased. Striped vinyl pants added a sense of modern quirk. The overall look was accessorized with bohemian beaded headgear, earrings and belts.

Mongo

Moving on, Mark and Estelknown for combining their love for music and fashion showcased a collection that was a wearable version of the music they create. From light and airy garments to flowy drapes, models comfortably walked the runway wearing plunging dresses that were belted near the waist. A lot of black and white was used to define the color palette of their garments, with bangs of steel grey and ruby red.

Mark And Este

Drifting towards the old-world charm,Orley, The designer trio showcased a collection with a vintage vibe of the 1950s. The colour palate was sober in shades of grey, white, black, navy blue and green. Polo necks, zig-zag knit patterns and chunky knits warmed up the season a notch higher. The brand’s heritage lies in its knitwear that surely did justice on the runway.

Orle

Going wild, Wild West,Rebecca Minkoffshowcased a collection that was casual, yet chic in its own way. Form-fitting skirts and flowy kaftans were worn under loose and airy coats that were crafted from leather as well as warm Mohair. Plunging maxis and printed long skirts were worn with striped cardigans and shearling jackets. Giving a ‘cowboy’ effect to the whole look, large hats and fringed suede boots made the perfect accessory duo for the garments. The color palette consisted of strong pastels like black, burgundy and rusty beige with hints of cobalt blue and dusky grey.

Rebecca Minkof

The collection by designer Nicole Miller featured an abundance of luxe furs and metallic on the runway. While some of the earlier looks. According to Hollywood Life Online, Nicole Miller‘s Fall 2015 collection was inspired by “mythic arts and the mysteries of the dark forest as seen through the eyes of illustrators.”

The British-based American Charlotte Ronson Fall collection was all about ‘casual-chic goes modern’. Models confidently swayed the runway wearing body-hugging dresses with lace detailing followed by oversized knitted sweaters. Some of the standouts from the collection were the straight-fit metallic dresses and the layered macro-minis. Boots were an integral part of the collection as each model walked in crinkled suede boots and the color palette included warm pastels like olive green, maroons, dark blue, grey and black.

Charlotte Ronso

Monique Lhuillier: The designer showcased some stunning jaw-dropping outfits with mesmerizing lace work. Taking winter to luxurious heights, the designer incorporated fur onto the garments to add to the richness of the jewel tones. The ensembles possessed a sense of elegance and sophistication. The dresses that really stood out today were the metallic gold dresses. The outfits were ideal for evening look.

Monique Lhuillie

Putting an end to day 3 of NYFW extravaganza was August Getty, the American designer. A lot of leather was used to define body- hugging garments and the edgy silhouettes were amalgamated with the designer’s design aesthetics. Strapless dresses and plunging gowns were paired with embellished jackets and shearling coats. Lace bodysuits and leather hot pants were perfectly accessorized with strappy platforms as well as leather boots. One of the standout pieces from the collection was the off-shoulder gown that was crafted entirely from lambskin leather and had extensive layering done on it.

August Gett
