(DAY-2)

Day 2 of the New York mania kick started with designers like Tadashi Shoji and Max Azria who showcased minimalistic collections with a summery touch to each and every garment. It was a perfect blend of simple as well as bold pastel colors that complimented with each of the designer’s heritage aesthetics.

The brother-sister duo of Nicholas K opened the day with a collection that surely didn’t disappoint. Having a very Bohemian approach, garments were flowy, relaxed and wearable. Plunging maxis and V-neck dresses were worn with loose overcoats and leather jackets. Silk blouses and cropped tops were perfectly paired with fitted trousers, accessorized innovatively with fur caps and pointed pumps. As the collection saw Middle-Eastern influences a lot of kaftans and robes were drenched in a sobriety of vivid pastels like grey, ombré, chocolate brown, white and faded grey.

BCBG Max Azriaopted for subtle colors with focus paid on garment construction and cuts. With relaxed & loose silhouettes, the collection had a winter-boho vibe to it. Elements of layering, fringe details and tribal patterns were paired with luxurious material like leather, shearling and lace to add to the sophistication.  High-knee boots in almond and black stood out, further elevating the boho-chic look.

Moving on, American designer, Richard Chai, showcased a collection that combined modern aesthetics with extravagantly draped garments. From shearling-lined hoodies to turtleneck jumpers, double-breasted suits and plaid shirts were worn with straight-fit trousers and patent brogues. Also, a lot of stripes and geometric lines were incorporated onto the garments that were perfectly paired with unisex accessories like fringed scarves and laced boots. The color palette consisted of simple pastels like black, navy blue and grey with a dash of olive and rust.

Costello Tagliapietra showcased an interesting collection of traditional meets modern. The color palate was sober and dark in shades of deep wine, sea-blue, grey, chocolate brown and grey. Fashion got nostalgic as the runway witnessed high-waist pants paired with suspenders, below the knee skirts and plaid print in modern silhouettes. The looks were completed with oxfords. Overall one could sense the vintage appeal but in a contemporary sense of calm.
