The designer Joy Mitra has delved into the archives of RK Narayan’s ‘Malgudi Days’ for his collection at WIFW A/W 2011.

Sheer magic of Malgudi Days which Joy has tried to translate in his latest collection is a fusion of Indian sarees, anarkalis and long jackets. Colors used mostly are blacks and browns with some indigos and maroons. Occasional sap greens play a hide and seek in the collection. Lot of textures, hand embroidery and prints has been used to create the look. Fabrics start from wool to corduroys to silk to cottons, adding to the magic and grandeur of the collection.
