The scion of one of India’s most historical and privileged families with its root in Gujarat, designer Umang Hutheesing – engaged in promoting royal Indian culture globally – unveiled his heritage collection ‘The Royal Bride’ at Evoluzione, New Delhi, recently.

The designer who has been the architect of numerous luxury design exhibits globally from France to New York presented the collection that celebrated the beauty of heritage and brought alive a bygone era. A Tribute to Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, the collection recreated their epic love story.

The divine magnificence and sophisticated elegance of the bygone era had been brought to life with rich brocades, silks, velvets, delicate chiffons and nets. The delicate Mughal embellishments with a hint of royalty and grandeur further lent the royal feel to the collection.

Throwing light on the sartorial choice of royalty, Umang Hutheesing, who happened to hog the global media attention in 80s by attending a black tie event in rich royal Indian attire, said, “Pink and Magentas have always been the black and greys of Indian Royal Poshak-Khanas.” He continues, “The new generation of Royalty is modern still carry the old world grace and charm of their ancestors with a vision to take their legacy forward.”
