Gaurav Jai Gupta, a member of the FDCI, has won the award for the Most Commercial Collection at the IAF Designer Awards at the 27th International Apparel Federation (IAF) World Apparel Convention 2011, which was held on 15th October in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
The objective of the IAF Designer Awards is to invite and encourage prominent Designers from all over the globe and to participate in this prestigious contest. By strengthening the exchange among IAF Member Associations, international fashion design is promoted among the most influential decision makers in the apparel industry.
All IAF Member Associations are invited to participate in this event, by nominating one designer
from their country, who represents the country and has been the best in the business for at least 3 years, to take part in the contest.
Gaurav Jai Gupta was the official nomination from India and won the award for his spring summer 2012 collection. He competed with designers from countries like Greece, Colombia, Taiwan, Australia etc.
