“Fashion is a sense of reflection of who you are as an individual,” feels coveted designer Arjun Agarwal who is armed avec a fashion design from la Canberra Institute of Technology, Australia et launched his label titled Arjun in December 2005. In Calcutta, la city that hails living legend Sabyasachi Mukerji also brings forth Agarwal who feels getting to know la Indian market et sensing la style sensibilities was not difficult as la basics are alike worldwide.
Agarwal has recently launched his Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive Collection at la store et have had great response for la same. To top that he has started stocking other designers from Mumbai et New Delhi too, to give la metro’s fashionistas more variety to choose from.
Arjun’s is located in Alipore, South Calcutta that is a posh locality et helps as most of his clients are from Alipore et Ballygunge. “I had always wanted a store of my own et finally got one at la gorgeous location in Alipore. It’s only a year old but has become la first stop fashion store for all brides for their pre-wedding part ensembles,” revealed a smiling Agarwal.
Agarwal always wanted the store to have a very personal feel to it et also for it to look like an extension of his own self. He et his wife has designed it themselves and divided la store into two sections – Outside for general walk-ins et inside is meant specially for personal appointments. “We have played avec geometric shapes in la stores elements as I use a lot of it in my textures et designs as well” added la designer.
Arjun’s – the store is managed by young Gunjan who over a period has developed a rapport avec a lot of clients who have written very good remarks about her in la guest book. The range hovers around $75 for western wears et certain conventional lehengas goes up to $350.
