A Science and Law graduate, Vijay started out as a Fashion Model in 1999. After walking the ramp for more than 500 fashion shows around the world, he then went on to become a fashion designer and won the Best Design Debut in 2010. By designing beautiful clothes, the designer gives a confident voice to his clients to express themselves in their best form.
His label ‘Vijay Balhara’ started in 2010 is a high street brand creating affordable and wearable fashion in Cotton Muslin , Cotton Voil , Linen ,Cambric Cotton ,Chanderi ,Silks and Chiffons, embellished with antique hand embroidery techniques. The silhouettes are created to strike a balance between traditional and contemporary outlook appealing not only to Indian women but also to global customers who want to experiment with their wardrobe through ethnic flavor and vibrant colors.
Vijay Balhara has been showcasing his collections regularly at India Fashion Week, Lakme Fashion Week and Wills India Fashion Week and his collections have been featured in various Fashion Editorials.
He is currently retailing in countries like Russia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and India.
