She is pixie-sized milliner, stylist and fashion designer. She has a penchant for creating more out of things and takes her inspiration from travelling and the interaction with various cultures. Born on 6 February 1974, Shilpa Chavan did her graduation from Central Saint Martin’s college in London and a stint with milliner extraordinaire Philip Treacy.

Her label ‘LittleShilpa’ launched in 2009 is a collection that takes a vintage thought and transforms it into a modern product through the use of varied raw materials. The USP of LittleShilpa is that each piece is individually handcrafted and as such a one-off that cannot be repeated. Her headpieces and accessory collections incorporate an array of bright coloured found objects and industrial materials such as Perspex into intricate sculptural shapes.

She has showcased her collections at Lakme Fashion Week, London Fashion Week and in Berlin. She has collaborated with designers including Manish Arora, Tarun Tahiliani and Sabyasachi Mujherjee in India as well as British labels Boudicca, Unconditional and Javier Salvador.

Her brand is stocked in National Permit, a seasonal store in Goa, Bombay Electric in Mumbai, Kabiri at Selfridges and My Sugarland in London, the Al-Sabah art gallery in Kuwait and Drap-art gallery in Barcelona.
