Arai was bought up in Beijing and graduated from Fashion College Sakuragaoka, Tokyo. After her debut in China, she moved to Tokyo to set up her own label.Since 1998, she has also been working as stylist for celebrities.

In 2005, she opened her flagship shop in Mejiro, Tokyo and started sales of her couture products. Arai started her prêt-a-porter line araisara in 2008, to express the connection between traditional oriental culture and contemporary fashion.  Inspired by the culture, scenery, natural surroundings, and spirit of the Orient, through a “modern” eye, “araisara” delivers a new fashion to the current world and our to the world of tomorrow.Her made-to-order clothes are of extreme comfort and beautiful line.

The designer has devoted herself to the research and restoration of old Japanese traditional dyeing techniques which she has been introducing every year in her collections. “araisara” incorporates traditional materials and exquisite skills of traditional craftspeople into modern design, pursues lines and patterns that compliment your body shape, and strive to create clothing that brings out the best in each and every one of you. A feature of "araisara" designs is the variety of ways in which they can be worn. Now “araisara” is an established brand with many clients in Japan and China.
