This designer is inspired by textile exploration and believes in creating user friendly garments. She launched her label ‘Salt’ in 2004, an ethnic garments and accessory label. It is essentially about hand crafted and fashionable ensembles which are influenced by Indian traditions and explores the femininity inside an Indian woman.

Apart from being a preliminary member at the Fashion Design Council of India, the designer is a graduate from NID. Having launched her label in London, the designers was privileged by her collection been chosen to be aspect of the Asian Dreams runway indicate, which showcases Asian designers in the UK organised by Newham School of More Training.

Speaking of her creations in totality, Ruchi creates an eclectic mix of prints, colours, fabrics and layers all enriched with ethnicity. The silhouettes are always fresh, with an emphasis on complementing the fit the body language of the wearer.

Meanwhile, Ruchi has progressed both as a designer and as an entrepreneur in the fashion world. She has been an active participant at the Lakme Fashion Week, a platform which has helped her promoting Salt to a wider audience. Besides, her collection has also been featured in acclaimed fashion magazines like Elle, Verve and New Woman Magazine.

She now successfully retails her collection in 150 galleries across the world, including UK, Italy and Australia. In India, her collections are retailed at Cinnamon in Bangalore, Bungalow 8 in Mumbai, Amethyst in Chennai, the Devigarh Fort Palace in Devigarh and her studio in Delhi.
