The Spring Summer 2013 showcasing by Gucci brought to the fore the portraits of aristocratic women. The collection taking inspiration from Richard Avedon and Gian Paolo Barbieri’s historic photographs of few of the female icons came to evoke a strong allure through its clean and defined aesthetics.

Titled, “Aristocratic Purism” the collection featured shirt jackets, tunic effects with linear outerwear, high-neck blouses with soft pants, long tapered dresses, mini dresses with a cocoon shape. The color palette was comprised of electric blue, citrus yellow and red.  Organza mixed with embroidered tulle in a geometric net, fibers from Japanese paper and exotic silk lame jacquard like python gave eclectic look to the collection.

Orient prints, snake-style patterns, bell sleeves and tiered waves of necklines were some of the highlights of the collection.
