Burberry has been named Britain’s most popular brand on Instagram for the second year running.

Burberry ranked first in Iconosquare’s second annual British brands report with 10.4 million followers, followed by Topshop with 9.2 million and Jimmy Choo with 7.3 million with Asos and Jaguar at the top five with 6.6 million and 5.5 million followers respectively.

However, the world’s most popular fashion brands on Instagram boasting far more followers. According to Iconosquare, Nike has 75.2 million followers, seven times as many as Burberry, while Victoria’s Secret has 57.7 million followers and Chanel 25 million.

RomainOuzeau, CEO of Iconosquare, comments, “A strong social media presence is an essential component of any successful marketing strategy. “Burberry should be especially pleased with their efforts as they have topped our British brands on Instagram study for the second year running and boosted their follower count by over 2 million over 12 months.”

The ranking of the top ten most popular British brands on Instagram also included Alexander McQueen, Aston Martin, Bentley, Stella McCartney and Rolls-Royce.
