The beginning of 2015 will see Selfridges’ annual New Year talent showcase with the launch of ‘Bright Old Things’, an effective platform that will highlight 14 designers, artists, musicians and entrepreneurs aged between late-40s and mid-80s. They have all been chosen by the retailer on the basis of any retirement renaissance underwent by them, a complete career change or an inspiring step into the unknown.

580The launch is in contrast with to Selfridges’ already existing Bright Young Things which normally is held in January and conveys the message that ‘it’s never too late to try something new’.

For Bright Old Things, each of the designers will be given a dedicated space at Selfridges’ flagship in Oxford Street which will give a clearer and more refined experience into their creative visions. They will also take part in a series of special events, including a special initiative during London Collections: Men and have all contributed a product design- a photograph, drawing or digital creation-which will be translated across products such as notebooks, tote bags and framed prints to be sold in the curated pop-up.

Their works will be on display from 8th January until the end of February.
