Kunal Rawal at Lakme Fashion Week W/F ’16

    Review

Designer Kunal Rawal presented “Role Play”, a true depiction of how colour, cut, layers or form can define and express your state of mind.

The colour story was a mix of bolds and neutrals which add to the festive tonality of the garments. Shades of wine, champagne, ivory and blue dressed the ramp along with charcoals and olives marching side by side.

This collection is where Botany is expressed in Geometry. Marigolds and Roses form silhouettes and profiles are interpreted in 2D. Manicured Grass is translated in French Knots. The ease of the breezy outdoors -–grass, flowers, jungles have been woven onto exquisite fabrics to produce designs for the Kunal Rawal man.

Bundis jackets, modern versions of the sherwanis, versions of short pathani kurtas make the season. Like every year, Kunal has adopted a few traditional silhouettes and given it an edgy twist. The signature military badges, rope, emblems and epaulettes gave finishing touches to the collection.
