It’s the divinity of the Carnatic notes of singer M.S Subbulakshmi which made Tanishq launch a special edition of gold coins to commemorate her.
Paying tribute to this Carnatic singer, who was known as much for her humanitarian work, as for music, Tanishq unveiled a limited edition of gold coins, weighing 2gms, 4gms and 8gms with an engraved image of her. Also on offer with the purchase of coins is a book of memoirs that captures significant landmarks of the legend’s life and gives readers an insight into her musical journey.
The coin was launched in Chennai by acclaimed Carnatic classical vocalists Dr. M Balamurlikrishna and Sudha Raghunathan with an aim of making contribution toward the singer’s favored causes of cancer and diabetes research. The proceeds will go to The Cancer Institute and the TAG-VHS Diabetes Research Centre, Chennai.
