Ralph Lauren opened a breast cancer research centre at The Royal Marsden in Chelsea in London. The centre has been named after the American businessman and philanthropist who have made an undisclosed donation of £3.9million to the facility.

The £3.9 million facility has been named after the American busRevealing her friendship to Princess Diana, while she was already the president of The Royal Marsden Hospital which is said to be one of her favourite charities, he spoke of the “honour” he felt at continuing the life-saving work of the hospital with her son, the Duke of Cambridge.

After formally opening the new Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research, the two men were told about a pilot study beginning at the end of the year which could – if it proves successful – lead to a blood test being used to detect if any cancer remains in a woman’s body once she has been given the all clear.
