The season of eccentricity hit the city of Tokyo just a week ago with all the heavy weights of Japanese fashion showcasing on a platform, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tokyo Spring Summer 2013.

Being held at Shibuya’s new Hikarie shopping complex, the 8-day long fashion extravaganza bringing to the fore the best of Japanese art, culture and fashion, commenced on October 13, 2012 with a band of 41 designers and brands presenting their latest Spring Summer 2013 collections through catwalks and exhibitions.

The event which culminated on October, 20, 2012 had names like Dresscamp, Shiroma, Somarta, Facetasm, et momonakia, Ato and Everlasting Sprout belting out some great modish renditions on ramp accentuating on different looks varying from ultra-feminine to gothic. From street wear to elegant evening wear, the week was high on non-conformism and innovation, pushing the envelope to highlight the evolution of Japanese design sensibilities.

Primarily, what grabbed the eyeballs were loads of floral motifs, neon hues graphic patterns and sportswear for both men and women. Even men appeared on ramp wearing full-on florals and neon hues  
The designers like Anrealage and Mint Designs who showcased at the last edition of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week also presented their scintillating creations. The use of laser cutting technology by Anrealage, along with intricate lattice work and Art Deco patterns in neon hues made the collection to stand out.
