When Ralph Waldo Emerson said that, ‘the Earth laughs in flowers’, he could not have been more succinct. As a designer who has harboured a similar belief, Anushree Reddy has taken the age-old floral print with a modern vintage spin on her heavily embroidered garments for upcoming LFW W/F 2014.

Her collection is an ode to the designer’s love for everything vintage and her strong Indian roots. The Indian chapter of Portobello brings forth the entire gamut of Indianwear from stately anarkalis to splendid lehengas and edgy sarees. From elements of a vintage newspaper print to additions of a measuring tape print, Anushree is covering a whole array of flirty inspirations for her latest collection. The heavy, detailed handiwork coupled with the Victorian era prints lend a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to Anushree’s new collection. The silhouettes are classic and timeless and the play on the detailing creates a niche for the classic Anushree Reddy garment.

The colour palette includes dull and rosy pinks, sea green, tones of beige and lavender. The fairytale wedding saga unveils against a backcloth of fine satin, tulle, chiffon, raw silk and organza.
