The select esoteric group of twelve couturiers, officially recognized by Chambre Syndicale, French fashion’s governing body, is now joined by two more labels Maison Martin Margiela and Alexis Mabille.

The above mention two fashion houses have recently been awarded  haute couture appellation by French fashion’s premier body. Previously, Maison Martin was a correspondent member, and Alexis Mabille, a guest member at the prestigious haute couture showcasing held twice in a year in Paris.

Both the labels which fulfill the eligibility criteria set by Chambre Syndicale to be true couture houses joins the likes of Dior and Chanel. The criteria depend on factors like the size of atelier, biannual collection of at least 35 outfits for both daytime wear and evening wear and made-to-order services and more.
