Mary Katrantzou RTW show had youthful innocence taking inspiration from Lego, Spirograph, paint-by-numbers books, balloons, marbles, Hama beads transformed into 100,000 Swarovski crystals sewn into clothes.
Her collection featured florals, intertwined with perspex blocks inspired by Legos, and hand-braided came in form of bubble dresses and skirts in voluminous shapes in nylon, drawing on images of kid’s balloons, kites and camping trip tents.
On her website, Katrantzou states that her inspiration was childhood, the youthful innocence and imagination that only a child has.
