Debut designer Komal Sood, brings to life the lyrical and textural appeal of the exotic autumn bloom: Birds of Paradise for WIFW A/W 2011. The designer gets inspired by a flower that in its spectacular shape, colors and spirit evokes poetic reactions. In her collection dream like silhouette resemble a brightly colored bird in flight as fabrics, cuts and embellishments.

Rich silk flat chiffons, georgettes, satins and taffetas go ornamental with silhouettes that are luxuriously fluid and at the same time draped in controlled structure. The collections blend the ancient heritage with a modern twist, with a mission for a continuous quest for craftsmanship, glamour and reverie.

The ensembles are meticulously crafted by combining corsetry with tailoring and drapery. With an innovative mix of eastern suggestions and European sensibility for cuts and sartorial styling, the brand transcends borders, inspired mostly from her extensive travels, historical and modern architecture and global aesthetics. Komal’s distinctiveness is fluid silhouettes, defined cuts and eclectic embroidery.
