For autumn-winter 2018, Greek born, London-based designer Mary Katrantzou offered– “Ornament is crime vs ornament is everything”, the show notes read.

Mary Katrantzou was dubbed “The Queen of Print” by press, a moniker that recognised the enormous influence of her work in the medium. Katrantzou’s work changed the face of twenty-first century fashion, inspiring high fashion and high street designers alike. Refining her signature aesthetic, Katrantzou expanded the complexity of her textile beyond print, translating her visuals to knit, digital craftsmanship, lace, and a focus on form.

At AW’18 show,Katrantzou’s Bauhaus vision was felt in the sharp, reductionist lines and slender silhouettes of sharply tailored coats, thigh hugging skirts and geometric prints. Alongside sequin drapery, cinch-waist jackets with crinoline hips and cropped puffer jackets inspired by Victorian era.
