Fondazione Ferragamo, established by Salvatore Ferragamo in Florence of late, will organize training courses, laboratories and cultural activities, and will grant awards and scholarship to students.

The foundation aims to support new talents teaching them the ideas of the founder of the Italy based luxury brand, and will be run by Wanda Miletti Ferragamo, spouse of the late designer. Moreover, the foundation will promote awareness of the brand’s heritage, promoting the company’s historic archive and organizing events in collaboration with the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum.

To WWD Wanda Miletti Ferragamo, Foundation’s Chairwoman said, “Young people are the engine of any society, the force that ensures continuity and the future. However, they must have the chance to demonstrate their worth and their abilities. Adults, institutions and businesses are responsible for giving them these opportunities and providing them with know-how, creativity, technology and, above all, the desire to move forward, to overcome all obstacles, values exemplified by my husband’s life and his life’s work.”
