Narendra Kumar Winter 2011/12 Menswear collection is inspired by Frank Sinatra’s classic “Fly me to the moon,” for upcoming LFW W/F 2011, celebrating the golden era of immaculate formal dressing and flamboyant masculinity.

The collection exclusively comprises of formal eveningwear for men. A complete and contemporary take on Tuxedo wear. The collection is based on the concept of the timelessness of the bespoke suits and that the classic permeates all ages, with a growing focus and need for black tie and occasion wear in Indian society.

The colour palette is inspired by F.Scott Fitzgerald’s literary work – The Great Gatsby. The lush emerald green, deep sapphire and midnight blues, wine, light pink, neutrals and ubiquitous “black tie” – Black.

Tuxedo comes in a skilfully-constructed silhouette with unique tailoring details that define a contemporary style that is sophisticated yet effortless.  Complete range of jacket styles for the evening: slim cut, single and double breasted, broad lapel, peak and notch, Japanese inspired kimono lapel tux, draped tux, the smoking jacket and the original cutaway collar jacket. The jackets are paired with slim cut a trouser, staying true to the designer’s aesthetic –denoted by sharp, clean tailoring.

Authentic luxury and decadence of the golden era is displayed through the predominant use of variety of silks and other fine fibres; Dupion silk, opulent silk velvet, textures and patterned silk, smooth and lustrous Ari silk. Textured handloom silk and brocade adds richness to the collection, whilst marrying the traditional Indian handcraft with a contemporary clean-line silhouette. Hand and machine embroidery, quilting and applique design incorporate motifs from the Art Deco and Art Nouveau period.
