Now, when Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2012 is only few days away, designer Debarun Mukherjee unveils his collection titled, ‘Omnipresent’.The collection paying reverence to the omnipresence of the almighty in our lives features flared and layered skirts, dhoti inspired skirt, high collared tops, pleated pants and sarees for women. While for men the designer offers long Indian sherwani look, with semi-transparent shirt kurta and draw string pants.
Besides the hand woven fabrics of Bhagalpur the designer uses tassar, matka, katan and monga fabrics to keep the collection as close to natural as possible. The color palette is comprised of blue, beige and black.
The inspiration of the surface texturing and embellishments comes from Iznik tiles of turkey having this distinct colour of cobalt-blue and the serene presence of divinity.
