Designer J.S Lee is one aspirant who has won the Harrods Design Prize for her MA show and draws inspiration from the Belgians for her creations. Also for her men’s wear collection presented during the London fashion week, the designer bagged the prestigious British Fashion Council’s New Gen Award.

Kym Ellery, on the other hand has been a regular at the Melbourne fashion week for quite a while now. Nominated for the LMFF Designer Award this year, Kym’s major highlights are her whimsical sense of colours and shapes.

For Charlotte Taylor, it’s all about being cheeky and essentially comfortable with grannies and penguins as influencing elements. Her eponymous fashion label immediately became a part of Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s young designer program last season.

However, the Danish designer Michael van de Ham has bagged a feature in Vogue and succeeded to become noticeable to every editor’s eye. The designer has interned with Alexander McQueen and nabbed the British Fashion Council’s New Gen competition.

For the label Hexa by Kuho, the designer Jung Kuho has the commendable experience of working with brands in the Asian fashion capital Seoul. The label was launched the previous fall in the United States with a Nick Knight-created film.

Rome based Caterina Gatta pays immense focus to fabrics and a lively play of colour combinations. At 27, she has been featured in Vogue Italia’s Vogue Talent Corner. Most of her creations share glimpses of early Versace, Pucci, or Alberta Ferretti.

Hakaan Yildirim is the winner of France’s prestigious ANDAM award for emerging designers in 2010. The Istanbul-based designer hails from Turkey’s Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and puts an emerging Turkish presence firmly on the fashion week maps.
