40 Years of Pallavi JaikishanCelebrating her forty years in the industry, designer Pallavi Jaikishan will be seen showcasing her creations for the first time at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2012.

For the week the designer has worked on four collections – ‘Sajala’, clouds with golden lining; ‘Mandara’, the mythical tree; ‘Elavia’, a thing of beauty and grace; ‘Ayiana’, the eternal bloom – in her signature style that blends traditional hand embroideries with modern day silhouettes, specially woven fabrics and real zari.

A modern day collection of lehangas, saris, jackets and tunics is done in rich colors with vividly different embroideries and varied forms. The collection titled, ‘Sajala’ featuring upada saris and real zari kota saris is created in a color palette of creams with a pearly sheen with pale blush, creams with a shot of cognac and complimenting pale aqua’s and burnished golds.

‘Mandara’, a collection of lehanga saris, lehangas, saris and anarkalis is in sap green tulle with silver and green foliage adorned with beautiful pink and coral rose. While a vibrant colour palette of rose pinks, bright reds, vermillion worked with resham flowers form ‘Elavia’ – a collection of saris with Pallavi’s signature flowers with a different twist.
The last of all is a collection of lehangas titled, ‘Ayiana’ meant for a young bride with a twinkle in her eyes waiting for her knight in shining finery.
