It’s somehow innate for her which only intensified over the years till this Delhi lass made to the dreamy alleys of fashion. Being referred here is designer Sakshee Pradhan who launched her label ‘Schon’ in 2011.
The journey of this women’s wear couture label bringing feminine beauty to the fore through its unique styles and silhouettes started way back to her school days which she completed from Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram in New Delhi where she always wanted to be a fashion designer. Her fierce passion later happened to earn her a graduate degree in Fashion Design and Apparel Design from National Institute of Fashion Technology, New Delhi. Meanwhile, Sakshee also attended several workshops and student exchange programmes at Parsons School of Design and Fashion Institute of Technology, New York.
But it was her Masters in Fashion Design & Merchandizing from London College of Fashion which honed her skills, and further she grabbed the niceties of high craftsmanship under veteran designers like Deepika Govind and Shantanu & Nikhil. Moreover, she learnt the know-how of the commercial aspects of fashion while interning with top brands like Monsoon (London), Gucci (New York) and Zara (London).
It’s not only about the higher standards on paper which mark the excellence of Sakshee but her designs which she likes to keep feminine, chic and luxurious are distinctive enough to grab the eyeballs. The basic element in her designs has been the usage of little intricate and delicate things such as crystals with luxurious fabrics while refraining from strong geometric edgy cuts.
