Excellent craftsmanship and high attention to detailing define the brand Libas by designer par excellence Riyaz Gangzi. Creating impeccably flawless garments with perfect cuts is an art which Riyaz is well versed in. It was his prehensile stint under a well known American Designer in Hong Kong further honed by his two years of working under Shenzhen Tailors which excelled him in unleashing his creative forces beautifully through state of the art pieces he designed, especially business suits, semi formal suits and other such attires.

It was the time when Riyaz along with his wife Reshma started his first designer store which the hunky actor Sunil Shetty inaugurated. Gradually he started ruling the roost of the fashion world by making a strong client base of the likes of Mittals, Akrutis, Bajajs and Dhoots which helped him to ensconce firmly in the fashion fraternity. 

Talking about his journey as a designer Riyaz says that it has been a lot of hard work and convincing people potential of your work but on a whole it’s a successful journey with the customer satisfaction as his priority. Riyaz has had created many fashionable chef-de-oeuvre but every designer has his one masterpiece about which he emotes, “It was fourteen years back when my wife Reshma was pregnant with my first child, I understood the life in a different perspective. It was a very touching time for me and what exuded in honor of that moment was a collection named ‘Life’. Such is life, moments make a person and vice versa.

Taking his inspiration from designer Ritu Kumar, Riyaz states that she is more of a corporate house rather than a designer for him. Besides imbued with ethical fashion,  Riyaz adds, “First thing that every designer need to do is complete boycott of animal skin and educate people on the same. The bit that I do from my side is whatever that I use is completely eco friendly from bags to materials.”
