doodlageIf you leave 27 year old, Delhi based designer Kriti Tula in a warehouse full of waste fabric, she is likely to emerge with an entire collection a few hours later. Swatches of fabric, an old pair of denims, tested pieces and even vintage garments – Tula salvages all by creating new garments out of them.

In 2012, she co-founded her label Doodlage with Rachna Jhunjhunwala, Paras Arora and Vaibhav Kapoor. The label is a blend of sustainable and exclusive high street fashion. The brand aims to merge innovative pattern making with intensive surface techniques to make fashion not just chic, also eco-friendly. The designer is set to open the brand’s first flagship store in 2016, with collections for men and children as well as home linens.

Kriti Tula will present her eco-friendly designs to vast audience with this year’s Lakme Fashion Week winter festive.  The designer’s next move is to work on a collaborated collection for Fabindia out of its post-production waste.

The label is currently available at Almari and Anonym in Hyderabad, The Orange Bicycle and Collage in Bangalore, Bliss, Creo and Sobo in Mumbai Sobo, Either Or in Pune, Teatro Dhora in Jaipur, Artisans Cottage in Ahmedabad, Sugar in Surat, Twist and  Green The Gap in New Delhi, Casa Maia in Raipur. Internationally the brand is available at Shop Indigo in UK and Fripe Fabrique boutique & atelier D.I.Y in Montreal, QC.
