The 24 year old, Delhi- based designer Ishita Mangal pursued fashion & apparel designing from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore, India in which she received the best academic performance award. To learn more fashion designing skills, she went to Milan’s Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, where she did a short fashion design course.
In 2012 as a part of one of her college projects, Ishita launched QUO, which she later on developed into a complete designer label in 2013. Drawing its inspiration from edgy cuts, the label aims in delivering good quality, well-fitted and perfectly tailored products. The brand is known for its stunning evening gowns, structured vests, summer brunch dresses and other outfits for social outings.
Ishita is set to present her designs to vast audience through the Gen Next platform of Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2015. Her collection at LFW ‘Misprision of treason’ is inspired from the people engaged in the investigation of a crime scene. Some of the clothes depict the crime scene, while others depict the roles of detectives, police officers and analysts involved in the same.
Her designs are currently retailing from Sasya in Kolkata, Creo and Fuelin Mumbai, Study by Janak in New Delhi, Style Tag in Bangalore,Evolv in Chennai, and Aananya in Pune. Internationally her brand is available at Gnossem in Singapore.
