The designer duo, Dhruv and Pallavi embarked upon their journey to the aisles of fashion soon after completing their graduation from Sri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi. The inclination towards art and fascination for fashion made Dhruv to pursue diploma in Fashion design and clothing technology, while Pallavi went on to do her Masters in Business Administration, before pursuing a diploma in fashion designing.

In 2003 they introduced their prêt line called Taurus, focusing primarily for the young confident women who can comprehend the understated design sensibilities and detailing of the brand. For the designers, creation is a tangible proposition wherein the clothing is for those women who believe that god is in the details, confident of subtle styles and colors and who does not want to flaunt but be there in style and aesthetics.

In 2007, the designers launched their signature line – dhruv – pallavi. From well pampered dresses to glamorous outfits, to beautifully detailed saris….their entire merchandize mix is eclectic. Their fabric texture treatments and surface ornamentations weave an interesting story, making each piece a pleasure to wear. It is for the women who like self-indulgence- who take special care of themselves in terms of how they look.

In October 2008, they launched their flagship store – called “Taurus studio” a concept store where every element has reasoning and a thought behind it, and the concept flows right from the interiors of the store to the bags which go out of the store. Taurus – being an earth sign, has an affinity for beautiful things in their natural form- like hardwood floors, fine woods, and plants – anything that seems to have an earthy quality to it. The interiors of the stores have been derived accordingly, trying to keep the look very earthen yet modern; we call it the Urban-Earthen look.

The label retails from their studio in Delhi besides stores like Aza, Fuel, Kimaya, Mogra, Samsaara, Studio Saks, Anahita and Studio Janak.
