Of late, Gucci unveiled its women’s Autumn Winter 2013 collection, juxtaposing a demure silhouette inspired by couture with a subversive undertone – elegant shapes, outlined in strong, signature Gucci materials and contrast with accessories inspired by the fetish aesthetics of Allen Jones.

The silhouettes remained constructed with the perfection of couture lines applied to ready-to-wear. The collection featured caban style jackets with softly egg-shaped shoulders; high-waisted knee-length pencil skirts with slits; reinterpreted up to the neck little black dress; coats taking on the form-fitting shapes of a bustier; feminine pants with tapering and short lengths; t-shirts in leather and python; and fishnet tights with black seam.

The collection used materials and treatments like leather, both smooth and cracklé, patent, python, pony skin, Astrakhan, silk, bouclé, lace, wool, reworking of pied de poule and Prince of Wales with shading and lurex threading. The color palette was comprised of purple wine, rust, moss green and cerulean blue tainting black.

The accessories complementing this ladylike collection included structured bags with archival luggage locks for a retro hint, necklaces recalling willow leaves, along with leather lock cuffs and cuffs adorned with colorful stones evoking the nuances of the embroideries.
