It was more than 150 years ago that a good observant and shrewd Louis Vuitton introduced his light weight easy-to-move trunks, and soon the travellers of the era started to live out of the user friendly and aesthetically done LV bags.
Over the time the line of trunks and suitcases was appended with ensembles which world took notice of and the label found its place in the closets of rich fashionistas, and the walls of the museums and galleries. And it was in 1997 that Marc Jacobs held the reins of the label and it turned iconic with its beautiful collections season after season.
Spotlighting on the journeys of these two crucial figures Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs, an exhibition is held at Les Arts Decoratifs in Paris taking cues from ‘Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs Rizzoli Coffee Table Book’. The show examines the careers of two men, charting their rise to become leaders during two decisive periods while also comparing their obsession to do things perfectly and penchant for innovation.
