The two iconic fashion brands, Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent, finally end their tug-of-war over red sole, after 18 playful months of mudslinging.

In a recent happening, YSL dismissed its claims against Christian Louboutin by filing papers at the Southern District Court of New York. In lieu Louboutin issued a statement reading, “We have considered this case closed since last September when the court of appeals rendered their ruling re-affirming the validity of our trademark rights on the red sole in the United States, iconic signature of Christian Louboutin over the past twenty years.”

“The ruling deprived Yves Saint Laurent of its claim for cancellation of our trademark. We are delighted to note that Yves Saint-Laurent have instead decided “to refocus their energies on its business and creative designs.””, it continued.

This whole YSL-Louboutin fracas began in April 2011 when Louboutin accused YSL for imitating its trademark red-sole shoe and sought the damages of $1 million.
