Rahul Mishra Weaves MagicIn a recent showcasing, designer Rahul Mishra did what he is best at – created splendour with Ikat designs while showcasing an eclectic collection of Pochampally weaves at Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai.

The showcasing recreated the richness of Han- Atlas fabric- a multihued hand woven and hand dyed Ikat fabric of early 19th century Central Asia that was popular with traders on the silk route and stood as a symbol of luxury. Apart from artistry and revival, the cynosure of the show was Parvathy Omnakuttan who walked the ramp for the designer.

Aiming to present the splendor of Ikat weave in its pristine form, the collection featured a range of wraps, rich coats, tunics, and saris. The highlight of the collection remained the craft which has been reinterpreted in a neo graphic manner reanimating traditional Indian motifs such as leaves, flowers, blossoming buds, and peacocks.
