Day 1:

The first day of London Collections Men SS’2016 was dominated by Topman and Craig Green shows. Green, a LVMH prize finalist and whose art is currently being showcased at China through Looking Glass exhibiton, has achieved widespread critical acclaim for his designs, and is fashion’s most watched for.

Even though Craig intended to wrap the body in fabric, this time,  he had white, black, indigo and ceremonial red were joined by electric bursts of orange, golden yellow, powder blue and emerald were layered and woven through each other to highlight the beauty of garments. Which had loose, trailing shirts and knotted jackets, frayed patchwork knots and dragging, bloated trousers..

While the opening day showcased some androgynous styles, with Topman show perched on Northern Soul as an inspiration, was quiet an interesting watch which had ports and suits – usually, pac-a-macs contrasting with two-pieces in slightly dodgy washed silk.

The day also had Nasir Mazhar presenting a complete wardrobe for his men, Christopher Shannon’s show highlights were running shorts and oversized pants, kit Neale, Alex Mullins and Tod Lynn shows can be summarized as luxury wears.
