Day 3 @ IKFW 2012The fun filled style extravaganza for little beauties, spotlighting the trendiest in the kids’ world finally culminated after three eventful days here at Intercontinental – The Lalit in Mumbai.

With floating toddlers to pre-teens, the Day 3 of the first ever India Kids Fashion Week 2012 was no different. The oodles of playfulness and pizzazz hopping hand-in-hand with glamour and modishness, the day witnessed some of the biggest names of the fashion bringing the best out of their kitties. Designers and brands like Payal Singhal, Neeta Lulla, Ashima Singh,PrachiBadve, kidology and AZ Couture showcased their trendy kidswear one after another.

Amongst numerous breathtaking designs and multitude of styles making it to the ramp, PayalSinghal’s Spring Summer Occasion Wear line for little girls stood out for its little party frocks doubling up as Indian occasion wear with little churidars, dupattas and detachable neckpieces. Going with Payal’s aesthetics of making each outfit work as four, the collection was in the kids appropriate bright color palette ranging from pretty pink, sea blue and lemon yellow to lilacs with accents of grape and fuchsia.

Similarly, designer Ashima Singh either mixed the playfulness quite alluringly well with elegance showcasing a range of frocks, aprons and cute dresses for girls, and linen shirts and cargo pants for boys in earthy hues. With little girls and boys walking their way down the ramp donning hats and that shy smile, Ashima’s show came as one picture perfect dreamy land with strewn leaves on the ramp.

One of the most exciting showcasing came from the side of 13-year old PrachiBadvewho presented a range of printed tunics, colorful salwaar-kameez, voluminous ghaghras and anarkalis in rich hues keeping the whole affair very Indian. Subtly showcasing the Indian extravagance, Prachi’s collection was as elegant as modish it was, meant for the girls in their pre-teens.

The grand finale by Nishka Lulla was infused with drama, loads of colors and styles. With toys and baskets lying strewn on the edges of ramp, the show witnessed the models of differentsizes appearing in bright hued outfits with ornate embroideries, prints, mirror work and Indian motifs. The silhouettes primarily remained relaxed with cutesy tunics, dresses, dhoti pants, frilled skirts and tops adorned with Indian artistry.
