As we reach day 3 of Paris menswear, there was Junya Watanabe Man, Maison Margiela, Comme des Garcons homme, Givenchy and others scheduled to showcase their collection.
Junya Watanabe sticked to neutrals in his latest collection, inspired by Russian gang tattoos his models tatted-up with real body art. As for collection there was contrast leather sleeves, casual suiting – think double-breasted, denim jackets with patterned sleeves.
Margiela show for SS17 the house stayed on the straight and narrow with criss-crossed coats flipped inside out, shirts and topsy-turvy knits unsteadily patch worked together. Riccardo Tisci is big on symbolism and SS17 was no less. All-over prints, pinstriped suits with military-style utility pockets with a slogan reading “Realize. Real lies” could be seen peeking through all the zips.
