Tarun Tahiliani Spring Summer 2016
    February 8, 2016

Tarun Tahiliani’s stellar new spring summer 2016 collection reveals clothes that transform into a breathtaking aria of fantasy and romance. Combining wispy delicacy with dramatic flair, the imaginatively avant-garde designer fashions a nomadic beauty of the Kutch desert tribes, the collection is a bohemian rhapsody of sorts. ‘I have always been inspired by the way the people of this region wrap themselves in big blankets, and this collection is my take on that,’ says Tahiliani.

Artfully divided into categories, Tarun showcased unsurpassed mastery in different forms of workmanship, be it the Ombre Crinkle range of draped kaftans, shirts, dresses and jackets in net and jersey. Or the Tonal Tangle collection, which is a kaleidoscope of geometric patterns on gilets, trousers, saris and kurtas made of georgettes, nets, jerseys and handloom.

His Bauhaus Collection, inspired by modernist design, comprises a vibrantly edgy range of structured shirts, kaftans, corsets and t-shirts in graphic shapes, geometric patterns and bold colours.  While Chintz Collection offers a breezy elegance to languid kaftans, kurtas and tunics.A whiff of old-world glam charms in the Chikankari range of tunics, shirts and kalidars .

The designer played with a luminous choice of colours which include reimagined renditions of cobalt blue, ravishing red, marshmallow pink and sunny yellow. The palette gradually shifts to subtle pastels of white and ivory in a clever mix of couture and craftsmanship on innovative fuss-free fabric with inventive embellishments, digital prints and sensual draping.
